Courses

ICLC offers four courses aligned with the level and needs of learners.

Long-term course (Student Visa)

There are five term-lengths for this course: 2 years, 1 year and 9 months, 1 year and 6 months, 1 year and 3 months, and 1 year.

Classes develop the four skills of listening, speaking, writing and reading at an even pace, with the aim of fostering Japanese language ability to enable graduates to go onto university or vocational school.

ICLC also offers classes for students taking the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT).

・July Term (1 year 9 months course): December 1 - end of January
・September Term (1 year 6 months course): March 1 - mid April
・January Term (1 year 3 months course): June 1 - end of July

Class Time Half-day lessons either in the morning or in the afternoon
・Morning Class 8:45-12:00 (90 minutes x 2 lessons, 5 days a week, Monday to Friday)
・Afternoon Class 13:15-16:30 (90 minutes x 2 lessons, 5 days a week, Monday to Friday)

Short Term Course

You may take a course that matches your Japanese language ability and study with students on a student visa. You can choose to be admitted in the months of January, April, July or October with the option to be readmitted every 3 months.

In the beginner level, students practice Kanji, writing, speaking and listening at an even pace.

In the beginner-intermediate to advanced levels, various textbooks are used to improve students’ comprehensive Japanese language ability.

Courses focusing on useful Japanese are also offered to students who want to study daily useful expressions at their own pace.

Short Term Special Course

ICLC’s original short term programs, winter and summer courses, can be taken in a few weeks. These short term courses allow you to visit Japan on a tourist or working holiday visa and experience both Japanese and Okinawan culture: Karate, folk dance and arts.

In a short period of time, students will be taught simple Japanese expressions that are useful for survival communication.

Short-term homestays are provided, and offer the perfect chance to experience life like a local! Please inquire about this course for more details, as the content, duration, and course fee change depending on the season.

Essential Japanese Course

This course is specially designed for foreigners residing in Japan on working, dependent, spouse or permanent residency visas.

This course focuses on essential Japanese daily expressions to meet learners’ needs.

Students on a working holiday visa may also take this course.
